Working in areas at risk for gas

(See SM-VA 004 - 4.11 - Set gases, PW-VA 010 - Safety measures for gas protection, regulations for the use of respirators) The companies and the plant fire department (PWF22) determine areas at risk for gas. (List see PW-VA010, enclosure 1) These areas are marked. In areas at risk of gas, recovery gas, converter gas, nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas, and chlorine gas must be expected. Required gas protection training according to BGR 190(repeat instructions at least once annually) Training provided by plant fire department ( PWF22 ). Appointments for instructions: Preventative gas protection PWF22 phone 0421/648-2363 or -(5)2363 For the wearing of respirators, a valid G26 exam must be on file. The respective operation must be notified of each entering of areas at risk of gas. Work in areas at risk of gas must be performed by a minimum of two employees in constant contact. Electronic gas warning devices and respective respirator for gases present in these areas must be taken along. In case the warring devices respond, all employees must leave the area, and wear the suitable inhalation protection.
